This download is of the line design for the flower Linocut reduction print in order to do the carving yourself.

To transfer to the Lino for reduction print: I recommend printing the design, cut it out to your Lino size, coat the backside with pencil graphite or charcoal powder. Tape the powder or graphite side to the Lino where you want the design (getting it straight and even now will save a lot of time in the future) then trace the design on the front side following the black lines. Use firm pressure but not firm enough the you damage the block. Peel back a corner as you go to make sure it is transfering onto the Lino enough to see it to go over this new transfer with permanent ink like a Sharpie.

To Transfer for a single color line print: For this type of carving, an acrylic transfer will work but will require the acrylic gel medium. I use gloss medium. Clean the surface of your Lino plate with rubbing alcohol or acetone then apply a coat of the gel medium in a thin and even coating, let dry. Do this again and apply the same to the face of the paper that has the printing on it. Now adhere the paper face down onto the block/plate. Line it up and smooth any bubbles out from the center outwards to the edges. Once it is in place and smoothed out, let it dry all day or overnight if you have the time. Dampen the back of the paper that is facing upwards and should be sold white. I use a spray bottle some use a rag and moisten it and then they use the same rag to help remove the paper. I begin to roll my fingers lifting and rolling the paper away from the ink that is now embedded in a thin layer of clear acrylic. This takes awhile so be patient and be gentle towards the end when there is just a haze of white paper left. it is easy to go overboard and scrub the ink away.
